About us
There is an opportunity for institutional investors to play a greater role in helping companies and humanity navigate the upcoming wave of AI disruption. The Investor AI Resource Hub is a non-profit that supports investors by creating shared resources and connecting them with AI governance and safety experts.
The risks and opportunities AI creates for humanity, and the regulations and best practices to manage these impacts, are becoming highly material to investment decisions. Equally, companies listen to their shareholders and so investors can play an important role in encouraging and supporting companies to develop and deploy AI responsibly.
A key challenge for investors is the complexity and rapid development of AI, alongside the lack of independent research tailored for investors. The ecosystem of AI governance and safety non-profits has the necessary expertise, but currently places minimal focus on reaching investors. The Investor AI Resource Hub aims to bridge this gap by curating, translating, and distributing content from AI governance and safety non-profits to investors.
The Investor AI Resource Hub aggregates and produces guides to relevant resources, distributes relevant AI governance research to investors, and hosts investor briefings with AI governance experts.
The Investor AI Resource Hub is a non-profit initiative funded by Omidyar Network and the AI Safety Tactical Opportunities Fund.
Team
Laurie Fitzjohn-Sykes
Laurie has worked for 20 years in investment research. Prior to founding the Investor AI Resource Hub he co-led the ESG research team at BNP Paribas in equity research, was Head of Governance Research at HSBC and Director of Research at Tomorrow’s Company, a non-profit responsible business think tank. He started his career as a financial analyst in equity research and private equity. He was previously a member of the UK Financial Reporting Council’s Investor Advisory Group and the ICAEW’s Technical Strategy Board. He has a first in Economics from Cambridge University. He is currently a Strategic Advisor to Omidyar Network and a Research Affiliate with the Oxford Martin AI Governance Initiative.
